Abstract
Lipstick is a cosmetic one that favored women who serve as colouring the lips. Lipstick made from a mixture of oil and wax, dyes of various concentration. Lipstick should be safe if used considering the used lipstick on lips. One of the conditions for safe lipstick is the absence of metal impurities. One of the metal that can pollute is cadmium (Cd). Examination of cadmium on lipstick is done by the method of atomic absorption Spectrophotometry. The sample used is divided into 3 categories i.e., category A with < price Rp. 20,000; category B Rp. 20,000 – 30,000 rupiah; category C > Rp. 30,000. Sample by category A includes sample numbers 3, 5, 9, 8. Category B includes sample numbers 1, 2, 6, 7, 10. Category C includes sample number 4 the determination of the levels of cadmium measured by 228.8 nm wavelength. The results of the determination of the levels of cadmium in samples 1 to 10 consecutive cadmium levels found among others 0.0949 ppm; 0.1747 ppm; 0.2723 ppm; 0.3134 ppm; 0.4107 ppm; 0.472 ppm; 0.4503 ppm; 0.2795 ppm; 0.3569 ppm; 0.3349 ppm . The levels found are still in accordance with the terms of the cosmetics on the regulation of the head of the food and drug Supervisory Agency of the Republic of Indonesia Number 17 in 2014 About changes to the regulations of the food and drug Supervisory Agency of the Republic of Indonesia Number HK. 03.1.23.07.11.6662 Year 2011 about the requirements of microbial impurities and heavy metals in cosmetics.
