Abstract

The study materials is anting-anting (Acalypha indica L.) herb which is a traditional medicine that is efficacious as anti-inflammatory, antioxidant, and antiarthritis (Kumar et al., 2011). According to Jayaprakasam et al. (2012) the ethanol extract of anting-anting have methanol anting-anting roots in vitro to inhibit protein denaturation at a concentration of 52 g/ml were significantly indifferent to the diclofenac natrium at a concentration of 100 g/ml. This led the researchers to continue until the stage of fraction of ethanol extract of the anting-anting herb. The study purposes were determined the membran stabilization activity and inhibition of protein denaturation of extracts and fractions of anting-anting herb and compounds that play a role in the testing. Anting-anting herb extraction was used maceration then performed fractionation used Vacuum Liquid Chromatography (VLC). Each fraction was tested their effect on the membran stability and inhibition of protein denaturation with various concentrations of membran stabilization test of 15, 12, 9, 6, 3, 1 g/ml, while inhibition of protein denaturation testing was used concentration variations of 100, 75, 50, 25 g/ml. Asetosal and diclofenac natrium (Phapros) was used as a positive control. The most active fraction was fractionation used column chromatography for obtain subfraction and separate more specific active compound. The data analyzing was used SPSS 17. The results of membran stabilization testing of sixth fractions were showed that the fractions of E and B have highest values of membran stabilization percent of 87.234% at a concentration of 15 g / ml and 84.574% at 15 g/ml. The testing results of inhibitory activity of protein denaturation of sixth fractions were showed that the fractions of B and E have the highest value of percent inhibition of 98.841% at a concentration of 100 g/ml and 93.841% at 100 g/ml. Fractions of anting-anting herb by TLC with various patches market has contain of alkaloids, flavonoids, steroids and triterpenes.
