Abstract

Diabetes mellitus is the result of an increase in blood glucose levels caused by absolute or partial insulin which can lead to complications. Type 2 Diabetes Mellitus with Hypertension, category and study of Drug Related Problems (DRPs) in the treatment of patients with Type 2 Diabetes Mellitus with Hypertension. The research was non-experimental, with a retrospective condition using purposive sample method. A cross-sectional study design was used to find out the Drug Related Problems (DRPs) existence. Data were taken from medical record and analysis was done in a descriptive design. DRPs are undesirable events related to drug therapy. Cases of Drug Related Problems (DRPs) in type 2 diabetes mellitus patients with hypertension which fulfilled the inclusion criteria were cases from 45 patients, with DRPs needing drugs with a percentage of 28,2% of cases 24, inaccuracies in drug doses there were 21 cases with a percentage of 24,7%, and drug interactions 40 samples were 47,1% which consisted of 21 cases of minor interactions, and 23 cases including moderate interactions. A significant relationship between length of stay with DRPs was observed (0.406> 0.05). Key words: diabetes mellitus type 2, hypertension, Drug Related Problems (DRPs)
