Abstract

Hypertention is a cronically disease that sign with abnormally high arterial blood pressure. The disease can affect the quality of life. The aim of this study is to understand the quality of life of hypertension patients in Majene District Hospital that measured by compare European Quality of life-5 Dimension-5 levels (EQ-5D-5L) and Short Form-6 Dimension (SF-6D) instruments. A cross sectional study design was conducted in this research. A scoring of EQ-5D-5L questionnaires was compared with SF-6D. The EQ-5D-5L questionnaire consists 5 domains and 5 levels that were mobility, self-care, usual activity, pain/discomfort, and anxiety/depression. While, SF-6D questionnaire consists 6 domains, physical function, limited role, social function, pain, mental health and vitality. The results found that there were some problems of quality of life with EQ-5D-5L questionnaire were pain/discomfort (97,1%) and anxiety (70,8%). Meanwhile, the main problems of that found in SF-6D questionnaire were pain (98,9%) and mental health (71.9%). The utility value both of EQ-5D-5L and SF-6D closely similar were 0.743 and 0.820 (p <0.05). This value base on reliability and validity evaluation. According to the findings, we conclude that, there were some factors that affecting the quality of life based on EQ-5D-5L and SF-6D questionnaires were age, comorbidity, complication, and blood pressure (p <0.05).
