Abstract

Vitamin C is the simplest vitamin and one if the vitamins that can be dissolved in water and has function to prevent various diseases. Vitamin C needs can be fulfilled by consuming fruits and vegetables. The development of food production produces many processed fruit and vegetables in the form of food and beverages in the form of packaging, one of which is fruit juice. Fruit and vegetables processed products must be monitored for their nutritional content. Research this do for knowing how many vitamin C levels in packaged juice drinks. This research used 5 samples of packaged juice drink sold at Hypermart. The test was carried out using iodine reagent, KMnO4, Fehling A and Fehling B. The qualitative test showed positive results. The quantitative test using UV-Vis spectrophotometry with a maximum wavelength of 266 nm. The results of research on vitamin C levels in packaged juice drinks with UV-Vis Spectrophotometry method contained vitamin C of 0,039% for sample number 1, sample no 2 was 0,035%, sample no 3 was 0,084%, sample no 4 was 0,025% and sample no 5 was 0,044%.
