Abstract

Fungi that can cause disease in humans, one of them is Dermatofita fungi. Dermatophytes are fungi that can cause abnormalities in human nails called dermatophycosis. Dermatophytic disorders of the nails occur because farmers do not use shoes while working in the rice fields, causing brittleness on the foot nails of farmers are caused by fungi. This research aims to identify the fungus found on the nail of farmers in the village of Carikan, District Juwiring, Regency Klaten. Mushrooms are found in 5 samples of toenail farmers identified with 2 methods namely direct examination and indirect examination. Direct examination is done by pedaling the nails of the farmer using a scalpel in aseptis, nail frown placed on the glass object, the solution is held in KOH 40% and closed with a glass deck, then observed under the microscope. Indirect examination is done by isolating the nail piece on the media so that the SDA (Sabaroud Dextrosa Agar). The Media was incubated for 7 days and the growing colony was observed under a microscope with the addition of Lactophenol Cotton Blue and covered with glass decks. Results of the research of the five nail samples of farmers who experienced the fragility of the mushroom Aspergillus Niger, Fusarium Culmorum, Microsporum of the fungus, Geotrichum cultivars candidum on indirect examination. The fungi of dermatophytes that are identified in the sample of foot nails of farmers who experience brittleness is the fungus Microsporum. Keywords: mushroom dermatofita, toenail farmer
