Abstract

Calamondin(Citrus microcarpa) is a plant with a small fruit size, fast and easy to growth , has a strong smell and typical sour taste. Peel of calamondin fruit has chemical compounds contain like flavonoid compounds, phenolic compounds and antioxidant compounds. This research for knowing the antibacterial activities of extract and fractions from calamondin peel (Citrus microcarpa) for bacteriasStaphylococcus auresus ATCC 25923 and Escherichia coli ATCC 25922. Extraction from calamondin peels use maceration method with the solvent is methanol and followed by fractinations process with n-hexane, ethyl acetat and water for the solvents. The methode for antibacterial activities test is difution method and dilution method for the exract that has highest activity. Concentration from diffusion methode is 100, 80, and 60% and while concentration from dilution methode is 100 ; 50 ; 25 ;12,5 ; 6,25 ;3,12 ; 1,56 ; 0,78 ; 0,39 ; dan 0,19%. The result of antibacterial activity test for bacteria is extract and fractions from calamondin peels (Citrus microcarpa) for Staphylococcus aureus ATCC 25923 and Escherichia coli ATCC 25922 bacteria. The higest activity is 100% extract of calamondien peel for Escherichia coli ATCC 25922 bacteria with minimum inhibitory concentration is 6,25% and minimum bactericidal concentration is can’t to determined.
