Abstract

Resveratrol is a natural polyphenol compound with high antioxidant effects but has a low solubility that is made in the NLC system. The development of Nano Lipid Carriers (NLC) is a delivery system that can correct the solubility problems of resveratrol. This study aims to determine the effect of variations in concentration of tween 80 and the length of solid lipid chains (myristic acid and stearic acid) on adsorption efficiency, drug release and antioxidant activity. The NLC system was made using (myristic acid with stearic acid) and the concentration variation of tween 80 using the emulsification method. Tests performed on the NLC-resveratrol formula include absorption efficiency tests, drug release tests and antioxidant activity tests. The results obtained by the length of the solid lipid chain (myristic acid and stearic acid) had a dominant effect on the increase in absorption and antioxidant activity, variations in the concentration of tween 80 had an effect on increasing drug release. The best resveratrol NLC formula is formula 3 with a chain length of C14 (myristic acid) which gives the best results in testing adsorption efficiency, increasing antioxidant activity and providing good drug release.
