Abstract

Resveratrol is a poliphenol compound have a potential antioxidant activity. The way to increase percutaneous transport need to be formulated in nanoemulsion dossage wich incoporated inside gel, nano-emulgel. This research aimed to formulate nanoemulsion resveratrol and determine the effect of gelling agent and viscosity on diffusion profiles and antioxidant activity. Resveratrol is formulated into nanoemulsion based on the results of screening characterized by percent transmittance, drug load, zeta potential, and particle size. Nanoemulsion was incoporated by adding into Carbopol 940 and chitosan as gelling agent with a viscosity of 100 dPas and 300 dPas. Nanoemulgel is characterized by viscosity, diffusion, and stability to temperature with Freeze-thaw. The results data are analyzed using Design Expert to determine the effect of each factor on the main effects and interactions. The results were showed that the selected components formed oil nanoemulsions, surfactants, cosurfactants namely Capryol 90, Kolliphor EL, and PEG 400 with ratio oil: Smix ratio 4: 6 and surfactant: cosurfactant 2: 1. Nanoemulsion was incised in Carbopol gel concentrations of 1% and 2.5% and chitosan concentrations of 5% and 6.5%. Changes in the gelling agent charge affect antioxidant activity by reducing the inhibition value. From the results of the expert design analysis it is suggested that the viscosity of 100 dPas is positive. Keywords: Antioxidant, Gelling Agent, Nanoemulsion, Nano-emulgel, Resveratrol.
