Abstract

Powder of Curcuma xanthorrhiza and Curcuma zedoaria contains curcumin compound that has potential as hepatoprotective. This research was conducted to determine the dose of combination Curcuma xanthorrhiza 27 mg/kgbb and Curcuma zedoaria 27 mg/kgbb which is optimal to reduce levels of SGOT and SGPT in male rats strain wistar that induced paracetamol. This research used 18 rats were divided into 6 groups, each 3 rats that is, group I normal control, group II negative control (CMC 0.5%), the positive control group III (Curcuma 3 tablets), group IV were given a dose of Curcuma xanthorrhiza single 54 mg/kgbb, group V dose combination of Curcuma xanthorrhiza 27 mg/kgbb and Curcuma zedoaria 27 mg/kgbb, group VI were given a single dose of Curcuma zedoaria mg/kgbb. All groups were treated for 12 days. On day 13-14 was given paracetamol expect the normal controls. Day 0 and 15 are set SGOT and SGPT. The data obtained were analyzed by One Way Anova. The results showed that dosage of the dose of Curcuma xanthorrhiza single 54 mg/kgbb, dose of combination of Curcuma xanthorrhiza 27 mg/kgbb and Curcuma zedoaria 27 mg/kgbb and a single dose of Curcuma zedoaria 54 mg/kgbb reduce levels of SGOT and SGPT, but dose of combination of Curcuma xanthorrhiza 27 mg/kgbb and Curcuma zedoaria 27 mg/kgbb optimally reduce levels of SGOT and SGPT.
